A 6-Hour Road Trip From Manila | DIY Pagsanjan Laguna

Welcome to Pagsanjan

Because it is summer, my friends and I decided to go on a day trip. Since my boyfriend wants to see personally the well-known Pagsanjan Falls which is now Magdapio Falls in Laguna, we plan a trip. We did not expected that our travel time on that day would be almost 6 hours from Manila to Pagsanjan. Maybe because it was holiday and many people wanted to plunge in pools.

Our first stop was on Sta. Cruz, Laguna. My boyfriend and I visited Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

Then we went to Pagsanjan to start our trip. Fortunately, I have an auntie that contacted a local bangkero in town. Kuya waited for us outside of 7-11 store in the town proper. Beware of fixers scattered around Pagsanjan that recruits tourists and give higher price. It is better if you contact first one or legit bangkero which I believe you can search on the web. We payed 100 pesos for the entrance on a resort for utilities including life jackets, head gears and toilet use. It took us almost 2 hours canoeing to Magdapio Falls. You will be welcomed by an undetermined kind of dragonflies flying around. They are colorful and beautiful. Along the way, we saw 2 small falls aside from the main falls.

Magdapio Falls

We went inside the Devil’s Cave by a ramp. Don’t expect on a spelunking activity because this is just a small cave. It just felt awesome because you will experience the waterfalls on your body.

Minutes after, we went back. We reached the resort for almost an hour. It was thrilling as we shoot the rapids and the view added to the thrill. Bangkeros are really professionals and very strong.

After Pagsanjan Falls, we visited Pagsanjan Church.

We haven’t eaten any lunch so we decided to try Balai Ilocos near Pagsanjan Church. The ambience is very good and the food as well is ok for its reasonable price.

If you will go to Pagsanjan, don’t skip Aling Taleng’s Halo-halo because it is definitely a must try. No wonder why their halo-halo is famous. You can also try pancit, it is also yummy!

With a full tummy, we got back home.  This was really a nice but irritating traffic experience but definitely an addition to my beautiful memories.
