We went to Tanay, Rizal for a camping experience. Also, for those beautiful mountain and the climate. As a person who goes to Binangonan from time to time, I think it is best to explore more the Rizal's mountain side. We have explored most tourist spots in Tanay and I believed I have shared it here in the blog with. But this time, I spent the night in Treasure Mountain and explored the vicinity.
Tanay, Rizal contains portions of Sierra Madre and one of the coastal towns surrounding the Laguna de Bay. It took us 4hrs to reach Treasure Mountain from Pasay City via private car. Treasure Mountain only accomodate overnight guests from 4pm to 8pm so plan your travel. I booked a tent a month before to made sure that I get my target date because the tents are limited and they do not allow guests to pinch their own. We arrived late and it was drizzling. We parked the car at the entrance of Sitio Maysawa bacause the path from sitio to the venue was too muddy, so we hired a tricycle to get there. We were welcomed at the entrance and assisted us to our tent. We placed our things inside the tent and only carried our variables with us. Do not expect too much because the tent for two persons are not that spacious enough especially if you have many things with you. We ate dinner at the canteen and stayed there for a while. We ordered Tapsilog, one scrambled egg, and liempo with rice. The tastes were good and the servings were generous.
Treasure Mountain is well-known to its sea of clouds so I came with hope that I can saw it. But during the night, it was raining hard. It almost hard to sleep and it felt that the tent will suddenly collapsed. Fortunately, it did not. The morning came and apparently, no sea of clouds but the view was great and breath-taking.
We explored the vicinity and took pictures. It was still raining, sadly, but the rain did not stop us. Not yet.
There were rock formations, good spots to take a picture, and some activities. We decided to just explore the whole place because it was still raining. The climate was really cool and the view was really stunning. We had fun and had a good time.
We left about 11am and we searched for a place where we can eat our lunch. We went to Cafe Katerina and ordered a garlic spinach pizza, tuna pesto pasta, and finger foods (fish and fries).
I would honestly say that the pizza was salty. Maybe because of the garlic that was too salty. But the tuna pasta was soo good. We enjoyed it and the finger foods were good. But I think it is best to try their lunch dishes because they are known for them. We just did not want to ate rice so we ordered different.
After we ate our lunch, we headed home.
Tanay has more to offer. It has cold climate, friendly locals, good restaurants, and stunning view. Come and visit. Tanay will never disappoint.
