Skin Type: oily to combination
I have been to skin care routine recently. Youtube influences me to take care of my skin without overspending by visiting facial clinic every time. I watched multiple youtube channels and search products that I think can help in my skin condition. Most korean brands and their products look promising especially with minimal amount of chemical or nothing at all. Most of the products I have tried and used are bought online using online mobile shopping application. I love the convenience and affordability compared to physical store price, but we buyers still need to be vigilant on the shop that we will trust. I would just like to share that most korean brands are now have physical stores in malls like Innisfree, Khiel's, and I think Cosrx will soon have in Pasig. And for amreican brands, Watsons accomodate some bestsellers.
Brand Name: Apotheke Science Philippines
Product Name: Apotheke Science Niacinamide 10%
Product Type: Serum
Product Price: Php249 (30mL) and Php489 (60mL)
I am currently using Apotheke Science Niacinamide 10% in 60mL bottle after my toner every morning. Before I use this every night also, but I have tried other serum at night so I only use this one in the morning. If I have finished my bottle of my other serum, I will switch to this one day and night.
What I like about this product is its formula because it is composed of niacinamide and aloe vera only. Its formulation is thick and an aloe vera gel type. My target ingredient is the niacinamide because I have been fascinated by its effects. Google says niacinamide has minimal to nothing harmful effect to skin. As what google says, "Niacinamide also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly improve enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, dullness, and a weakened surface". The downside is, which I think is not that negative at all, it needs long time to see the effect. But I prefer this one especially that my skin is sensitive. The thing that I really avoid in choosing a product is for that product not to react or trigger my skin asthma.
The formula is gel type and its thickness is same with an aloe vera gel. Aloe vera has also good benefits in the skin. According to Google, "It contains antioxidants, enzymes, Vitamins A and C, and it is highly anti-inflammatory. It can help treat burns, acne and dry skin". Now a days, there are many manufacturers for Aloe Vera Soothing Gels. I personally want to try one but I am scared because rating of some of the reviews I have watched and read says average. There are reviewers who breakouts and others make their skin better.
I have used this product for 6 months now and I did not breakout, fortunately. And in 6 months, I have noticed some good changes but I can not say that it is because of this product alone because I am using facial wash, toner and sunscreen in the morning; Additional serum at night. At first, I ordered the 30mL bottle to check first if it is effective and if it is good for my skin. Just this week, I ordered 60mL bottle after I finished my first.
So far, my friends noticed the difference so I continue to use this. In the future when I finished my night serum, I will try Apotheke's other product for night use. Their night serum product looks good because of its active ingredient which is retinol. I will make a review for this one also, so just stay tuned.
Since we have different skin types, it is still better to check first if this product will not harm your skin. Still I recommend this one to try and to help local manufacturers as well.
